Kullu Dussehra festival –Himachal Pradesh

Kullu Dussehra festival –Himachal Pradesh (October)

This festival is in the honor of Lord Rama (lord Raghunath as he is known here), who is the ruling deity of the valley. The festival dates back to 17th century when King Jagat Singh of Kullu installed an idol of Lord Rama on the throne. The festival starts when Dussera celebrations end elsewhere, with the pulling of Lord Raghunath’s chariot by hundreds of devotees, and spans seven days. The festival involves colorful processions and celebrations. Witness a beautiful festival in the backdrop of a heavenly place with Indian festival Tours.
